2024–2025 “Local feminist perspectives as transformation levers for sustainable development in Ukraine in the context of ongoing defence”.
Download PDFThe study covers the period from 2014 to 2024, with particular emphasis on the full-scale Russian invasion from 2022 to 2024.
The study critically examines the vital role of feminist perspectives and actions in advancing sustainable gender-transformative changes in Ukraine amid ongoing defense against Russian armed aggression.
It highlights the capacity of feminist movements to drive long-term shifts toward gender equality and social inclusion, with a focus on the rights of women and LGBT+ people.
Despite wartime challenges, feminist activists continue to advocate for transformative policies that not only address immediate societal needs in a time of war but also lay the groundwork for gender-sensitive defense, inclusive recovery, and postwar reconstruction.
The research explores the impact of feminist actions and perspectives across various spheres of Ukrainian society; the obstacles they face; and the opportunities that remain to strengthen feminist policymaking during and after the war.
